Some quotes from the article:

For Control 2 and codename Condor, all publishing, distribution, marketing, and other rights licensed to 505 Games revert to Remedy with immediate effect. 505 Games will continue as the publisher of Control through a transition period ending December 31, 2024

The maximum purchase price for the transaction is approximately EUR 17 million

This transaction will enable us to negotiate better deals for current and future Control games. We can now weigh up the options between self-publishing and a new publishing partner for Condor and Control 2. At the same time, we are in a better negotiating position than before as Control is an established brand and Alan Wake 2 has been successful.

Control [...] has sold over 4 million units

Condor and Control 2 have both progressed well in recent months and we expect these projects to reach their next development stages during the first half of 2024.

*Condor is the codename for a co-op multiplayer Control game.

Simcity 2000 feels. (pawb.social)
submitted 3 days ago by trslim@pawb.social to c/gaming@beehaw.org

I have been playing a lot of the DOS version of Simcity 2000 recently. I grew up with it on my windows 98 pc, so revisiting it was nice. There were a few thing I picked up on that I never realized when I was young.

1: The game, especially the soundtrack, reminds me of Blade Runner. It has the synthy jazz instrumentals that are melancholic, but also has that classic simcity cheer.

2: The game kind of has a dystopian feel to it, at least visually. The ground is brown, with only sparse trees filling the world, buildings are fairly realistic, with not many colors, outside of the luxury homes and the Arcos are very intimidating structures, like something out of Judge Dredd or, again, Blade Runner.

3: Omg, water sucks in this game xD.

Why does this game feel so moody, at least to me? It's also intensly funny, and I will never not laugh when 1700 llamas die in a plane crash.

Once you hit middle school, the pressure to "fit in" hits. Naturally, this includes games now.

The other day someone asked this and everyone recommended a $1,400 chair. I can’t afford that, I can’t even dream of affording that. I’m looking for something with good lumbar support for ideally under $400 tops. Does anyone have any ideas?

And Inb4 someone says “buy one used / second hand” I looked and they’re still pretty pricey. My current chair is falling apart so I need to do something soon.

POSTING this info on lemmy to port my own post from reddit, since im trying to slowly abandon it and want to migrate here while the user base grows

Hey!!! With the amazing help of different people from the Gamecube and Wii modscene I performed my first picoboot installation and now I was customizing my Boot Animation with CUBEBOOT and my Swiss backgrounds.

Cubeboot lets you power on your Gamecube through the boot animation and even customize the text and color of it. Just follow their github tutorial

So, because i cannot give back to the community in a better way, I dedicated a few hours today to create some readily available backgrounds to use with Swiss.

You can see the backgrounds available here (theres more inside, most are pink cause i painted my gamecube pink and silver):

Special thanks to Colrust (reddit username) for sending me his files and helping me personally. Greatly appreciated, I shared your files in this pack too, i hope you dont mind, if you do i will take them down of course.

In spanish:

Hey!!

I did not ink my original reddit post on here, but did link this one on reddit, as to aid migration to lemmy an other foss options

Hello all! I would like to know what games give you that cozy, fuzzy feeling of simple happiness.

I'm currently experiencing this with Tchia, a wholesome game about a girl doing fun stuff on an island.

Weirdly enough I have a similar thing going with Doom (2016) at the moment. Something about the intensity of the levels and the interesting map design make me feel really satisfied and immersed.

Lastly, Super Mario 3D World really has a similar effect to Tchia, we're I immediately get a happy feeling just by booting it up and looking at the wonderful colors en design.

What is your go-to game for feeling relaxes or happy?

What game should a group of around 15 colleagues play to get the most out of 3 hours after work at an internet cafe?

It's a mixed group of gamers and non gamers, and we want everyone to have a good time.

I'm thinking something where we can divide us into two teams and quite quickly get some enjoyment out of it even if most haven't played it before.

PARIS & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Capgemini and Unity (NYSE: U), the world’s leading platform for creating and growing real-time 3D (RT3D) content, today announced an expansion of their strategic alliance that will see Capgemini take on Unity’s Digital Twin Professional Services arm. Per the agreement, Unity’s Digital Twin Professional Services team will join and embed within Capgemini, forming one of the largest pools of Unity enterprise developers in the world. The transaction will accelerate the iteration and implementation of the market leading real-time 3D (RT3D) visualization software for the industrial application of digital twins. It will allow end users to envision, understand, and interact with physical systems - a key enabler for intelligent industry. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2024.

MoreUnity’s Digital Twin Professional Services team has worked with many companies over the past five years to develop real-time 3D solutions to drive business results. As more and more enterprises seek to combine the physical and digital worlds, clients are looking for the RT3D software capabilities coupled with business transformation, design, and engineering expertise to realize value from the industrial application of digital twins at scale. Today’s agreement will extend the reach and scale of Unity’s software through Capgemini, allowing more organizations to further push the boundaries of this technology through the acceleration, adoption, and application of RT3D to build and scale immersive experiences.
